Issue#771: Startup driver issues after Windows 10 upgrade - HP notebook

  • Hi everyone,

Hoping someone can help me get my HP dv6 notebook back to its optimal graphics performance.

After upgrading my computer to Windows 10, I downloaded the AMD Software Compatibility Checker and it suggested that I download:

AMD Catalyst version 15.7.1 for windows 10 x64 - which I downloaded and installed.

However now on startup, after the windows loading screen, I get a blank screen for about 1.5 minutes, before the windows loading screen appears again and logs me in.

Does anybody have any idea why this would be happening? When I removed the drivers and ran off integrated graphics, this issue disappeared.

Any help would be much appreciated!

    System specs:

    HP Pavilion dv6-6023TX notebook

    GPU: Radeon HD 6700M

    Intel i5-2410M

    4 GB RAM

Hi, all. I installed windows 10 on my M15X and it's been a pretty smooth transition up until this point. That said, there is one significant driver problem: the touchpad. The new Synaptics drivers seem to handle the older touchpad terribly - preventing the use of the single-finger scroll and also causing some weird hangs on startup when it tries to initialize the touchpad. That said, I was able to remove the windows 10 driver and install the windows 7 driver. This solves the problem, but... m15x Windows 10 Touchpad Driver Issues

  • Issue#51130: Driver Issue in Windows 10

My company uses a large number of thermal printers for printing event tickets. We install these printers using the Generic Text Only driver in Windows 7. One of our clients has upgraded to Windows 10 and the printer is no longer functioning. Every time a print job is sent, the printer goes into an error state. We narrowed it down to the new Generic Text Only version 10 driver. We uninstalled the parallel port and re-installed it with the version 6 driver. That worked for a while. Then the client rebooted and Windows 10 changed the driver on its own. Any ideas on how to get this working again and to get it to stick?  Thanks in advance.

  • Issue#56613: Sony - Windows 10 upgrade from 8.1 on my SVE14A290X notebook

Hello,My computer came with Win 8 and I upgraded at least a year ago to 8.1.  Ever since then I have had display issues with the drivers.  This notebook has the Intel and AMD hybrid graphics and they have never worked right period.  I am thinking that the upgrade to 10 may or may not solve this issue.  First, can you guide me on what to do to get the proper drivers to work on my current 8.1?  Then I would feel safer upgrading to Win 10 since microsoft seems to be providing the graphics drivers.  Frustration level is high but I am pretty savvy to get this fixed if you can give me proper instructions what to do.  Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance, Stan RusekHouston
